Islamabad: The government has decided to implement a modern digital system at petrol pumps to regulate fuel supply and enhance monitoring mechanisms.
According to sources, under the new system, a specific fuel quota will be set for private vehicles, and petrol will not be provided beyond the assigned limit, aiming to ensure efficient usage and transparency.
It has been revealed that approved mobile devices will be used to implement the system, and arrangements for supplying these devices to petrol pumps have already been completed.
The Ministry of Information Technology has finalized the testing of these devices, while the National IT Board has also verified the mobile phones to be used by oil marketing companies.
Sources further stated that the mobile application developed for this system has successfully completed its testing phase and is expected to be implemented soon.
