In Karachi, on the directives of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, the provincial government has issued an official notification directing that school van fares must not be increased, and existing charges should be maintained.
According to the spokesperson of the chief minister, a formal circular has been sent to all public and private educational institutions, clearly stating that any increase in pick and drop transportation fees for students is strictly prohibited and current fares must remain unchanged.
Officials stated that the Sindh government will provide necessary facilities to transport operators so that they do not pass on additional financial burden to students and parents, while all educational institutions have been instructed to ensure full compliance with these directives.
Additionally, schools have been made responsible for providing complete data regarding student transport services, and a warning has been issued that legal action will be taken against those who violate these orders.
