Following the announcement of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, international media outlets have extensively reported on Pakistan’s role and its diplomatic efforts, portraying the country as a responsible and effective mediator.
According to reports, Pakistan’s prudent and courageous diplomatic stance during a highly sensitive global situation has been viewed positively, with several credible international media outlets describing its efforts as a significant step toward reducing regional tensions.
One international newspaper reported that at a critical moment when the world was facing uncertainty, Pakistan played a key role in advancing the negotiation process, with these efforts led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, and taken seriously by the global community.
According to the report, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar remained actively engaged in diplomatic efforts throughout the process, maintaining contact with various stakeholders and continuing discussions late into the night.
Gulf media also praised Pakistan’s role, stating that Islamabad played an important part in easing tensions between Iran and the United States and established itself as a reliable guarantor of peace based on its longstanding relationships.
A British news agency noted that Pakistan has now emerged as a strong mediator in the region, while both American and British media highlighted that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts helped pave the way for the ceasefire.
Some reports suggest that former US President Donald Trump also acknowledged the importance of discussions held with Pakistani leadership regarding the ceasefire decision, while British media stated that Pakistan achieved this success after weeks of sustained diplomatic efforts.
