Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has invited French companies to invest in the province.
During a meeting with the French Ambassador, both sides discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest. The discussions also covered the rehabilitation of flood victims in Sindh.
The French Ambassador expressed interest in investing in Sindh, while CM Murad Ali Shah highlighted that Pakistan’s economy is improving, though development programs have been affected due to economic challenges. He further stated that the reconstruction of 2.1 million homes for flood victims is underway.
Regarding agricultural taxation, he mentioned that the restoration of farmland and irrigation systems has been completed. He noted that while the IMF proposed new taxes on agriculture, Sindh had already implemented agricultural taxation, which has now been increased from 15% to 45%, tripling the burden on the sector.
Murad Ali Shah also stated that terrorism in Pakistan is not an internal issue but rather a result of foreign conspiracies. However, he assured that security forces are playing an active role, and the law and order situation in Sindh has significantly improved.
