Heavy rain and hailstorms lashed several sectors of Islamabad, significantly changing the weather in the federal capital and increasing the intensity of cold across the city.
The Meteorological Department had earlier predicted rainfall between November 4 and 5 in the twin cities and various other parts of the country. According to the forecast, further showers are expected as the system persists, likely resulting in a continued drop in temperature.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather alert for different regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa starting today. The advisory states that intermittent rain and snowfall in upper areas are expected until November 5.
PDMA has directed all district administrations to remain vigilant and ensure precautionary measures are in place to deal with any emergency.
The authority has further warned of possible landslides in mountainous regions, which may result in road blockages and disruptions in travel. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and stay updated with weather reports.
