A seven-day anti-polio campaign has officially begun in Karachi today, with the aim of protecting children from a deadly disease like polio.
According to the health department, during this campaign, more than 2.1 million children up to the age of five in Karachi will be vaccinated against polio. In this regard, polio teams will go door to door to administer the vaccines to children so that no child is deprived of the protective vaccine.
On the other hand, an anti-polio campaign is also being launched across Balochistan from today. Under this campaign, a target has been set to administer polio drops to more than 2.6 million children in the province. For this purpose, more than 11,000 teams have been formed, which will also provide services in remote and sensitive areas.
Officials say that special security arrangements have been made during the campaign, while parents have been appealed to make it mandatory for their children to receive polio drops to ensure the complete eradication of polio from the country.
