The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has issued non bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi due to his absence from court.
The action was taken during the hearing of a case related to alleged accusations against state institutions. The hearing was conducted by Civil Judge Abbas Shah. The court was informed that the accused did not appear, which led to the issuance of the warrants.
The court ordered that Sohail Afridi be arrested and presented before the court at the next hearing so that the legal proceedings can continue.
The court also adjourned further proceedings of the case until March 26 and directed the relevant authorities to ensure compliance with the court’s orders.
It is worth noting that the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has registered a case against Sohail Afridi under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act related to allegations concerning state institutions.
