Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, expressed strong disappointment and anger after party leaders and lawmakers failed to arrive at Adiala Jail on the day scheduled for meeting the former prime minister.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Aleema Khan questioned why PTI lawmakers did not come to the jail, saying that those who secured seats in the assemblies through the votes of the PTI founder should have been present there.
She said that individuals who received public support in the name of Imran Khan were expected to ensure their presence on such an important occasion, adding that the absence of several leaders was disappointing.
During the exchange, party leader Shahid Khattak explained to Aleema Khan that her message had already been shared in the parliamentary group and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa MNAs’ group and that all members had been informed about the plan to reach Adiala Jail.
Shahid Khattak further stated that he had clearly instructed all concerned members to be present at the jail, and that next week all lawmakers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with the Chief Minister, would also arrive there.
Aleema Khan added that those who cannot even come to Adiala Jail should resign from their seats and party positions, saying that individuals who took votes in the name of the PTI founder should at least feel some shame over the situation.
