The committee investigating the incident of clash between guards and students at Punjab University in Lahore held the senior security officer responsible for the incident.
The inquiry committee, after completing the investigation, recommended the removal of the senior security officer of Punjab University.
The Vice-Chancellor of Punjab University formed a committee to investigate the incident, which completed the investigation and submitted recommendations.
Sources of the inquiry committee told Dawn News that the altercation occurred because of the senior security officer, the senior security officer ordered the guards to intervene in the protest of the students, and the fight started when the guards snatched the microphone from the student.
Sources in the inquiry committee said that the guards tried to take the law into their own hands on the orders of the senior security officer, who played the role of a representative of the opposition student body.
The inquiry committee also recommended action against the students involved in the brawl, disciplinary action will be taken against the students who pelted stones, and attacked with bottles.
It should be noted that on October 22, a clash between the Punjab University Students Federation (PUSF) and the guards of the university resulted in the injuries of several guards.
Dawn News, citing sources, said that the Punjab University Students Federation (PUSF) tortured 2 guards a night ago, on which the guards registered a case against the students, the same guards again the next day. The students joined hands, after which the students severely assaulted the guards.
Meanwhile, the students threw stones at the security guards and pelted glass bottles. The university administration had called the police when the situation became tense, but on this occasion, SHO Muslim Town Inspector Atif was also injured by being hit by a glass bottle.
