Islamabad: Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan has stated that Pakistan’s One-China policy will remain unchanged.
During the weekly briefing, Shafqat Ali Khan reiterated that China is a friendly nation, and Pakistan continues to uphold its commitment to the One-China policy. He emphasized that Pakistan will not alter its stance on this matter.
He strongly condemned the baseless allegations against Pak-China friendship and attempts to damage bilateral relations, affirming that Pakistan and China share strong ties.
Speaking on terrorism, Khan stated that Pakistan condemns all forms of terrorism, including the recent incident in Sudan.
Regarding the Morocco boat tragedy, he mentioned that investigations are ongoing, and survivors of the incident are being repatriated to Pakistan. Additionally, he announced that Pakistan will soon host peace exercises.
Commenting on security concerns, the Foreign Office spokesperson expressed deep concern over the presence of advanced U.S. weapons in Afghanistan, stating that these pose a serious threat to Pakistan and its citizens.
He pointed out that after the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021, modern weaponry was left behind, which is now being used by banned organizations to carry out terrorist attacks in Pakistan. He urged the interim Afghan authorities to take immediate action to prevent these weapons from falling into the wrong hands.
