The facility of offering government jobs to one family member of a deceased civil servant under the Prime Minister’s Assistance Package has been withdrawn.
According to reports, the Establishment Division has issued an official office memorandum, directing all ministries and divisions to implement the new decision. The notification states that the decision has been made in light of the Supreme Court’s ruling on October 18, 2024, and will be applicable from the same date.
However, other benefits and entitlements under the PM Assistance Package will continue for civil servants who pass away during service. The Establishment Division clarified that this decision will not apply to martyrs of law enforcement agencies who lose their lives in terrorist incidents.
