Washington: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed to initiate direct negotiations between the U.S. and Russia to end the ongoing Ukraine conflict.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump shared a segment of his phone conversation with Putin, calling it a long and highly productive discussion. He expressed confidence that the negotiations would be successful, adding that Ukraine’s government would also participate in the peace talks.
The Kremlin has confirmed the discussion, but no date or location for a potential meeting between Trump and Putin has been decided yet. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the phone call lasted about 90 minutes, during which Putin extended an invitation for Trump to visit Moscow.
