Tremors of an earthquake were felt in the federal capital Islamabad and several cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Due to the tremors, people rushed out of their homes, offices, and buildings in a state of panic and were seen reciting the Kalma Tayyaba.
The tremors were felt in multiple cities, including Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Murree, Swat, Sargodha, Abbottabad, and Jandiala Sher Khan. The magnitude and epicenter of the earthquake are being determined; however, initial reports suggest that the tremors were of considerable intensity.
Following the earthquake, rescue services and hospitals nationwide were placed on high alert for any potential emergency. So far, no casualties or property damage have been reported, but officials stated that surveys are underway to assess any possible losses.
During the tremors, people gathered in open spaces at various locations, while temporary disruptions in mobile networks were also observed in some areas.
