India has continued its swift actions against Pakistan following the recent developments in Pahalgam. After suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, India has now blocked Pakistan’s official ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) account within its territory.
Two days after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that claimed 26 lives, India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology requested the social media platform X to block the official account of the Government of Pakistan in India.
Responding to this request, the platform has suspended Pakistan’s official X account in India, making it inaccessible to Indian users.
This step is part of a broader diplomatic and strategic counteraction by India against Pakistan. Measures include the downgrading of diplomatic ties, closure of key border crossings, suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, and expulsion of Pakistan’s military attachés from its High Commission in New Delhi.
India has further strained bilateral relations by barring Pakistani citizens from traveling to India under the SAARC visa exemption scheme, and has revoked all previously issued visas. Pakistani nationals already in India have been ordered to leave the country within 48 hours.
