A tragic incident occurred near the coast of Yemen, where a boat carrying migrants capsized, leaving at least 27 people dead and dozens more missing.
According to Arab media reports, rescue teams have so far recovered 27 bodies from the sea, while the search operation for the missing passengers continues. Initial reports suggest that around 150 people were on board the boat at the time of the incident, possibly including women and children.
The nationalities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed. However, it is feared that many of the victims were migrants from African and Asian countries attempting to reach their destinations through illegal sea routes via Yemen.
This incident is part of a growing trend. In recent months, illegal migration through Yemen and its surrounding waters has increased to alarming levels, leading to the deaths of hundreds of people. Some reports have confirmed that Pakistani nationals have also been among those affected.
The United Nations and international human rights organizations have repeatedly warned against such unsafe sea journeys and the rise in human trafficking. Yet, driven by poverty, insecurity, and the search for a better future, thousands continue to risk their lives on these perilous routes.
