The Government of Sindh has officially announced that it will provide free solar systems to all residential electricity consumers who use up to 100 units per month, in a move aimed at promoting clean energy and reducing the burden of high electricity costs.
This initiative, launched by the Sindh Energy Department, targets low-income households struggling with rising electricity bills. The goal is to help these families shift to renewable energy sources and reduce their reliance on expensive grid power.
According to official sources, eligible households can submit their applications until August 20, 2025, to benefit from this government-funded program. So far, over 123,000 applications have already been received from across the province, reflecting strong public interest.
Authorities stated that if the number of applicants exceeds the available quota, a transparent ballot system will be used to select the beneficiaries.
The spokesperson of the Energy Department added that this program is part of the Sindh Government’s broader policy to minimize dependence on the national grid, reduce energy expenses, and promote the use of renewable energy. Citizens who meet the criteria are strongly encouraged to apply before the deadline to avail this opportunity.
