In a significant development in the NAB reference against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Assistant Commissioner Secretariat has issued an official advertisement for the auction of his property. PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has reacted to reports of the alleged auction of Khan’s Bani Gala residence, calling it an unexpected development.
According to the advertisement, the auction will be held in Union Council Bhara Kahu as part of the NAB reference proceedings and will feature the sale of Imran Khan’s property located in Mauza Mohra Noor. The land includes 248 kanals 8 marlas and 405 kanals 3 marlas.
Participants interested in the auction are required to submit a pay order of Rs. 5 million in the name of the NAB Chairman. Additionally, they may visit and inspect the property before the auction. The notice states that the relevant patwari will provide all necessary details to participants, and the auction will be conducted under the terms and conditions approved by the evaluation committee. The auction is scheduled to take place today in Mauza Bhara Kahu.
Meanwhile, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said the news of the alleged auction of Bani Gala residence only surfaced today, and if true, it could be the result of a covert move. He added that the Bani Gala administration was unaware of the matter, but the party’s legal team was actively investigating and would soon uncover the facts.
Later, in another post, Salman Akram Raja clarified that, according to the legal team, NAB Reference No. 19/2023 — commonly known as the Al-Qadir Trust case — has already declared other accused as absconders and proclaimed offenders. He noted that today’s published auction notice pertains to those accused persons’ properties. He confirmed that the party is keeping a close watch on the matter.
