Barrister Gohar, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan to hear the PTI founder’s letter and provide him relief. He stated that whenever a citizen writes a letter to the Chief Justice, it is treated as a petition and heard accordingly, and the PTI founder’s letter should be handled in the same manner.
Speaking in Peshawar, Barrister Gohar also addressed the Toshakhana-II case along with other legal proceedings. He maintained that all these cases are baseless and politically motivated. According to him, the witnesses presented are unreliable and coerced into giving statements under pressure.
He emphasized that the cases against the PTI founder and his wife, Bushra Bibi, have no basis in reality and are merely part of a political vendetta. He demanded that justice be served without delay and the cases be concluded fairly.
It is pertinent to mention that two key witness statements have recently surfaced in the Toshakhana-II case. Private appraiser Sohaib Abbasi admitted that he undervalued a Bulgari jewelry set, which had been gifted by a dignitary from an Arab country to the former prime minister and his wife, under external pressure. This revelation is considered significant in the case.
