Islamabad: A horrific incident took place when a cylinder exploded in a vehicle in the parking area of a court in G-11 Sector. According to sources, the sound of a loud explosion was heard far and wide at around 12:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon.
The explosion caused a fire in the vehicle and engulfed nearby vehicles. According to initial reports, the explosion was caused by a cylinder installed in the vehicle, killing 12 people and injuring several others, including lawyers and civilians.
According to the police, there was heavy traffic in the court area at the time of the explosion, due to which the policemen were also injured. The injured have been shifted to PIMS Hospital for immediate medical attention.
According to initial investigations, the incident occurred due to a cylinder explosion; however, the police are conducting further investigations to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
