The Meteorological Department has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail across most parts of the country during the next 24 hours, while upper and mountainous regions are expected to experience cold conditions.
According to the department, smog is likely to continue affecting lowland areas of Punjab, with chances of light fog during the early morning and night hours in some locations. Skardu recorded the lowest temperature, where the mercury dropped to minus 7 degrees Celsius.
The weather report stated that during the past 24 hours, most regions of the country remained dry, while mountainous areas experienced cold to very cold conditions. Light fog was reported in certain lowland districts of Punjab, resulting in reduced visibility and causing minor disruptions in traffic flow.
Meanwhile, the air quality situation in Lahore remains dangerously high. The city has once again been ranked the second most polluted city in the world. Lahore’s overall Air Quality Index was recorded at 337, a level considered hazardous to public health. Health experts have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities and to take protective measures to reduce exposure to harmful air particles.
