Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Bahrain’s capital, Manama, on a two-day official visit, where he was warmly received by the top Bahraini leadership. The visit is being regarded as an important step toward strengthening strategic cooperation and enhancing bilateral engagement between the two countries.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa—who also serves as Deputy Supreme Commander of the Bahrain Defence Forces—welcomed the prime minister at the airport along with senior Bahraini officials. The Pakistani delegation accompanying the prime minister includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani and senior government officials.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will hold key meetings with Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and other senior leaders. These engagements will focus on expanding bilateral cooperation, strategic partnership, trade, investment, and people-to-people ties.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the main objective of the visit is to further advance a “results-oriented” and strategic partnership between Pakistan and Bahrain. The spokesperson added that the visit will strengthen the long-standing cordial relations between the two countries and pave the way for new avenues of cooperation.
The Foreign Office further stated that enhanced people-to-people connectivity will contribute to deeper bilateral cooperation and create new opportunities for mutually beneficial collaboration.
