President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Sydney and expressed full solidarity with the Australian government and people.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressed deep sorrow and grief over the terrorist incident in Sydney, offering condolences to the families of the victims and prayers for the swift recovery of the injured. He stated that Pakistan has itself suffered greatly from terrorism and fully understands the pain and trauma caused by such attacks. The president reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance against terrorism in all its forms and emphasized the need for collective global efforts to combat this threat.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a message shared on the social media platform X, expressed heartfelt sympathy with the victims of the Sydney attack. He said that Pakistan unequivocally condemns all forms of terrorism and stands with the Australian government and people during this difficult time. The Prime Minister also conveyed condolences to the affected families and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
It is pertinent to note that the shooting occurred during a Jewish festival in Sydney, resulting in the deaths of 12 people and injuries to 29 others, including two police officers. According to Sydney police, one attacker was killed during a counter-operation, while the second suspect was arrested in critically injured condition. Authorities have officially declared the incident an act of terrorism.
