Islamabad: Pakistan cricket team’s experienced all-rounder Imad Wasim has announced a major development in his personal life, confirming that he has filed a divorce case in court.
In a statement shared on the social media platform Instagram, Imad Wasim said that after considerable thought, he has concluded that the differences between him and his spouse, which have existed for several years, can no longer be resolved, prompting him to seek divorce through legal proceedings.
He urged the public and the media to respect his private life and refrain from speculation based on old photographs or rumors.
Imad Wasim also warned that any intrusion into his personal affairs or the creation of unnecessary narratives would result in legal action.
He further clarified that he will continue to fulfill his responsibilities regarding the care and upbringing of his children.
It is worth noting that Imad Wasim married Sania Ashfaq in 2019, and the couple has three children. In the past, media reports had circulated regarding marital differences and alleged affairs involving the cricketer, though he neither confirmed nor denied such claims, while his wife had occasionally posted ambiguous messages on social media, drawing public attention to the matter.
