Karachi: Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab commented on the PTI rally held in the city, stating that Bagh-e-Jinnah is a large and spacious ground, and filling it is not an easy task for everyone. He said that the success of political gatherings should be assessed based on ground realities rather than mere claims.
Referring to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s rally in Karachi, Murtaza Wahab remarked sarcastically that if PTI lacked enough workers to fill the ground, they could have asked for help, and assistance would have been provided. He added that political parties should adopt a realistic approach when making claims about public support.
Meanwhile, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani also criticized PTI’s style of protest politics, saying that peaceful protest and PTI are two different things. He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister should focus on addressing public issues in his own province instead of attempting to shut down other provinces.
It is worth noting that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi held a rally in Karachi a day earlier. Addressing the gathering at Numaish Chowrangi, he alleged that police carried out actions at various locations, yet a large number of supporters still managed to participate in the rally. He further said that he was not treated fairly in either Punjab or Sindh, and that he would now carry the PTI founder’s message across the country through a street movement starting from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
