The investigation into the Gul Plaza tragedy has been further expanded, while authorities have decided to conduct chemical examinations of samples taken from the bodies of the deceased to thoroughly determine the causes behind the devastating fire.

According to sources, laboratory tests will be carried out to assess whether any chemical substances were present inside the building, while the unusually rapid spread of the fire will also be examined as part of the investigation. For this purpose, samples will be collected from Gul Plaza for chemical analysis, and statements of individuals associated with the market will also be recorded.

Meanwhile, the recovery of cash from the debris of Gul Plaza continues during the ongoing rescue and search operation. Chief Fire Officer Humayun Khan stated that a large amount of cash recovered during the search has been handed over to the relevant authorities.

Speaking to the media, a shopkeeper said that money is being recovered from iron drawers and lockers inside various shops, while one individual was reportedly taken into custody after attempting to flee with the cash.

Deputy Commissioner South Javed Khoso said that all belongings of the affected individuals are being treated as a trust. He added that reports had emerged about two dumpers carrying Gul Plaza debris going missing, but they will be traced soon. On the other hand, Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan denied reports regarding the disappearance of the two dumpers.
