Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that during his visit to Austria, his primary focus will be on enhancing trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Pakistan and the host country in order to further strengthen bilateral relations.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said that upon arrival in Vienna, he looks forward to meeting Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker, where discussions will be held to expand friendly ties and cooperation in various sectors between the two countries.
He added that the visit will also provide an important opportunity for engagements with the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. The Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s interest in deepening cooperation in the areas of peaceful nuclear energy, counter-narcotics and crime prevention, sustainable industrial development, and shared progress.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Vienna accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and other officials. He was warmly received, and a contingent of the Austrian Armed Forces presented a guard of honor.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral and delegation-level meetings with Chancellor Christian Stocker. He will co-chair a business forum aimed at increasing investment, participate in and address the Austria Business Forum, and speak at a special event titled “Sustainable Development: A Pathway to Global Peace and Prosperity.” Additionally, he will meet the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
