Investigations into the explosion that occurred in residential flats in North Nazimabad have been completed, with the Bomb Disposal Squad concluding in its final report that the incident was caused by a gas leakage. According to officials, various aspects were thoroughly examined following initial suspicions, and the findings confirmed that the accumulation of gas led to the explosion.
Authorities stated that no evidence of a cylinder blast was found at the scene, nor were any damaged cylinders or their fragments recovered from the affected flats. The report also indicated that there were no signs of any explosive materials being used in the incident.
In-charge of the Bomb Disposal Squad, Abid, explained that a gas pipeline was passing near the lift area, which intensified the impact of the explosion and resulted in the collapse of the lift. Preliminary investigations suggest that a gas stove may have been left open inside the flat, and when gas supply was suddenly restored, the gas accumulated within the apartment and ultimately triggered the blast.
It is worth noting that the explosion occurred a day earlier in a residential apartment located in Block E of North Nazimabad, after which a fire broke out. The tragic incident claimed the life of a child and left four others injured, who were immediately provided medical assistance.
