PTI founder Imran Khan was transferred from Adiala Jail to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for a follow-up related to his eye treatment, where he received medical care under the supervision of specialist doctors. According to officials, the transfer took place on February 24 to complete the next phase of his treatment.
The Executive Director of PIMS stated that Imran Khan was administered the second dose of the Anti-VEGF intravitreal injection. Hospital authorities said that prior to administering the dose, a cardiology consultant conducted necessary examinations, including echocardiography and an ECG, both of which showed normal results.
According to the hospital statement, during his stay at the facility, throughout the procedure, and afterward, his vital signs remained stable. The consultant physician also declared him medically stable and confirmed that the treatment phase was completed as planned.
The procedure was carried out under the guidance of consultant ophthalmologists and a consultant vitreoretinal surgeon from PIMS and Shifa Eye Hospital. The hospital stated that it was performed as a day-care surgery, and a board of specialists conducted a comprehensive medical assessment before the procedure.
After completion of the examination and treatment, Imran Khan was discharged with necessary instructions, follow-up advice, prescriptions, and relevant medical documents.
