A funeral prayer in absentia for Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was held at Char Minar Chowrangi in Karachi under the auspices of Islami Jamiat Talaba, drawing a large number of students and youth. The atmosphere remained solemn as participants offered prayers for the departed and for unity within the Muslim Ummah.
Participants also made special supplications for solidarity, stability, and peace across the Muslim world. Speakers emphasized the importance of unity in the face of current challenges.
Addressing the gathering, Islami Jamiat Talaba Karachi Nazim Syed Muhammad Sameer ul Haq described Khamenei’s death as a major tragedy for the Muslim world and condemned the incident. He stated that such events are attempts to weaken the Ummah, but the sacrifices of martyrs send a message of awareness and unity.
He urged people to rise above sectarianism and internal differences and to work together for common interests. He also condemned the killing of two Karachi University students during protests outside the US Consulate and demanded an immediate, impartial, and transparent investigation, calling for those responsible to be brought to justice.
At the conclusion of the event, participants expressed their commitment to remain peaceful and to raise their voices within the bounds of the law. Speakers highlighted the need for the younger generation to act with wisdom and awareness to ensure peace and stability in the country. Strict security arrangements were in place, and traffic returned to normal after the gathering dispersed.
