The final decision regarding whether Eid ul Fitr will be observed on Friday or Saturday, March 21, will be made in the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee scheduled to be held tomorrow in Islamabad.
The committee meeting will take place on Thursday under the chairmanship of Abdul Khabeer Azad at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, where testimonies related to moon sighting will be reviewed.
At the same time, zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meetings will be held at their respective headquarters across the country to collect local reports of moon sighting.
Representatives from SUPARCO and the Meteorological Department will also attend the central meeting, providing scientific and weather-related input to assist in the decision-making process.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will review all received testimonies from across the country and then officially announce whether the moon has been sighted, determining the date of Eid ul Fitr accordingly.
