Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds has begun across various areas of Karachi, affecting multiple parts of the city.
Intense rainfall was recorded in I.I. Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Shadman Town, Gulshan-e-Memar, Ahsanabad, North Karachi, Power House Chowrangi, Orangi Town, North Nazimabad, Old City Area, Malir Halt, Rifah Aam, and surrounding areas, while hail was also reported in Maripur.
Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi has directed all relevant officials to remain in the field and closely monitor the situation to ensure prompt response to any emergencies.
According to the commissioner’s spokesperson, all deputy commissioners have been put on alert, and relief camps have been established to assist citizens.
The spokesperson added that necessary measures have been taken to deal with the rainfall, the control room is fully operational, and citizens can contact the rescue helpline 1299 for assistance.
