Islamabad: Petrol prices in Pakistan are likely to increase by up to Rs100 per liter, with the government expected to announce new rates in the coming days.
According to reports, the federal government has decided to pass on the burden of rising global oil prices to the public, which may lead to a significant increase in petroleum prices.
Sources indicate that there is a gap of around Rs100 per liter for petrol and over Rs200 per liter for diesel compared to import costs, prompting consideration of price adjustments.
The report states that a final decision on the proposed increase is expected soon, and new prices will be officially announced in the coming days.
