During a federal cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, it was decided to observe a Thanksgiving Day on the upcoming Friday to acknowledge Pakistan’s role in facilitating the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, marking a significant national step.
According to sources, the Prime Minister briefed cabinet members in detail on Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and recent developments during the US-Iran tensions, highlighting how Pakistan played an effective role in facilitating dialogue between the two countries.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif specifically acknowledged the role of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in the mediation process, while cabinet members also praised their efforts and termed the development a major diplomatic success for Pakistan.
According to the government’s decision, the purpose of observing the Thanksgiving Day is to express national gratitude over this diplomatic achievement and to highlight Pakistan’s effective role in promoting peace in the region.
