Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has stated that Pakistan’s role in the current situation is commendable, and its diplomatic efforts are being appreciated globally.
Speaking at a press conference in Peshawar, he said that PTI founder Imran Khan has been advocating since 2002 that Pakistan should always play a role in promoting peace, and now that policy is being implemented and recognized worldwide. He added that the country belongs to everyone, not just a single political party.
The Chief Minister said that positive outcomes can be expected if negotiations are held regarding Afghanistan, and under national policy, Afghan refugees will be repatriated with dignity and respect. He emphasized that criticism should be constructive, while alleging that continuous negative propaganda is being carried out against them.
Sohail Afridi also spoke about the PTI founder’s health, stating that he is facing an eye-related issue and is not receiving treatment at Al-Shifa Hospital. He demanded that Imran Khan should be treated in a hospital of his family’s choice in their presence.
He further stated that a message has been received from the PTI founder emphasizing the need for political space for the party, and those who do not accept his decisions should choose a different path.
The Chief Minister added that the provincial cabinet will soon be expanded, although government departments are functioning effectively even without expansion, and efforts will be made to ensure civilian supremacy in Malakand Division.
