A tragic incident has been reported in Mumbai, where four members of the same family died after allegedly consuming food, raising serious concerns in the area.
According to Indian media reports, 40-year-old Abdullah Abdul Qadir, his 35-year-old wife Nasreen, and their daughters Ayesha, 16, and Zainab, 13, had dinner with relatives on Saturday night, during which they ate biryani, followed by watermelon later in the night, after which their health began to deteriorate within a few hours.
The report states that by around 5 a.m. on Sunday, all four family members experienced severe vomiting and diarrhea, prompting their immediate transfer to a local doctor and later to a larger hospital as their condition worsened, where they passed away during treatment.
Dr. Zaib Qureshi stated that the case initially appears to be one of food poisoning; however, the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after the post-mortem report, as further medical and forensic investigations are ongoing.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine whether the deaths were caused by toxic substances in the food or due to complications arising from the combined consumption of biryani and watermelon.
