Power consumers across Pakistan, including K-Electric users, are likely to receive major financial relief of approximately Rs63.94 billion under the quarterly adjustment mechanism, which is expected to reduce electricity bills significantly.

According to a statement issued by National Electric Power Regulatory Authority, power distribution companies have submitted their adjustment request for the first quarter of calendar year 2026, covering the period from January to March, and a formal hearing on the matter will be held on May 19.

The request stated that a reduction of Rs36.83 billion has been recorded under capacity charges, while system usage charges and market operation fees have also declined by a combined Rs11.24 billion.

Similarly, an additional reduction request of Rs23.51 billion has been submitted under incremental units, increasing expectations of substantial relief for electricity consumers across the country.

According to the statement, the final decision will be made after NEPRA’s hearing, following which it will be determined how much relief will be passed on to consumers and how it will impact electricity bills.
