Medical experts have warned that immediately entering an air-conditioned room after coming in from extreme heat can be harmful to human health, as sudden temperature changes can negatively affect the body.
According to experts, the human body works through a specific system to maintain temperature balance. During intense heat, the body cools itself by sweating and expanding blood vessels, which puts significant stress on the body’s internal system.
Doctors say that if a person suddenly moves into a very cold environment under such conditions, the body may experience thermal shock, leading to symptoms such as headaches, sore throat, cough, and breathing difficulties.
Experts advised that instead of immediately entering an air-conditioned room after exposure to heat or sunlight, individuals should spend a few minutes in a shaded or moderately cool place to allow the body to gradually adjust to the temperature change.
They added that dehydration becomes common during summer, making the cooling effect feel even harsher, so proper water intake is necessary to maintain the body’s moisture balance.
According to medical experts, continuous use of air conditioners can also create dry air that may cause throat dryness and irritation, while direct exposure to cold air can lead to breathing issues and muscle stiffness.
Health experts urged the public to maintain a balance between heat and cooling, keep AC temperatures moderate, and follow precautionary measures to avoid various health complications.
