National airline PIA resumes flights to Europe after 4 years.
The spokesperson of PIA said before the flight that the passengers will have breakfast in Pakistan and lunch in Paris.
Boeing Triple Seven flight PK 749 departed from Islamabad to Paris at 12:00 today. 2 weekly flights will be operated which will be gradually increased, and Pakistan Airlines flights will be operated on Fridays and Sundays.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif bid farewell to the passengers, flight PK 749 has 323 passengers on board, and 2 direct flights will be operated weekly to Paris.
Khawaja Asif said that he would start flights to the UK after Europe, he said that there was a time when PIA was the leading airline in the world, while addressing the ceremony at Islamabad Airport, he said that our Govt. After a lot of hard work, the flights to Europe were restored.
He said that we are grateful to the European Union Safety Agency for checking us and allowing us to fly. Due to the closure of European flights, we have lost billions of rupees.
He said that at one time PIA was the best airline in the world, PIA will start its flights all over Europe in a phased manner, by transiting from Europe we will now start flights to America as well.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif congratulated the people on the resumption of PIA flights to Europe, the resumption of flights will facilitate the Pakistanis living abroad, and he said that overseas Pakistanis will be able to benefit from direct flights.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that due to the suspension of flights, PIA lost billions of dollars, it affected the reputation of the national airline, after the restoration of flights, PIA is moving towards development.
