Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said that there was no discussion about the meeting of his sisters with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan during his meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Speaking to the media outside the PM House after meeting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said that no political issue or meeting with the sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan was discussed in the meeting and I did not demand a meeting with the founder.
The Chief Minister said that the meeting with the Prime Minister mainly discussed issues related to terrorism and there was no discussion on political matters. One or two more meetings are expected after this meeting so that security and financial issues can be discussed comprehensively.
Sohail Afridi said that 2600 billion rupees are pending in the tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, out of which the Prime Minister has directed that the pending 26 billion rupees be released immediately.
He said that the Rs4 billion allocated for the citizens of Tirah Valley, Kurram, and Bajaur who are making sacrifices is not a small amount, but this money is in respect of the sacrifices of the people and if it is linked to public sacrifices, it will deviate from the original purpose.
He said that discussions have also taken place regarding the NFC award and other arrears and the Prime Minister has directed Ahsan Iqbal to discuss the matter in detail with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Muzammil Aslam.
Talking about the latest incidents of terrorism, the Chief Minister said that a terrorist has neither a province nor a country and another meeting with the Prime Minister is scheduled after Eid in which this issue will be discussed in detail. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has already clarified its policy and is presenting its position at every forum.
After talking to the media, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam left PM House.
It may be recalled that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had invited the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for a meeting, in which the current security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and important development and financial issues of the province were discussed.
During the meeting, the two leaders also discussed measures to improve the law and order situation in the province and the immediate approval of pending funds.
