Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that a major event held in Islamabad has highlighted Pakistan’s global importance and the value of its green passport, further strengthening the country’s international image, while he also congratulated the President, Prime Minister, and Field Marshal on this achievement.

He said that this success reflects Pakistan’s strong position on the global diplomatic front, while India appears to be reacting strongly to the situation, with visible pressure in its media narrative, adding that Pakistan, being the only Islamic nuclear power, has also achieved success through the “Battle of Truth.”

Speaking at a press conference at the Directorate of Social and Electronic Media Karachi, he said that an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of President Asif Ali Zardari, attended by all four provincial chief ministers, where key national and development matters were discussed in detail.

He stated that the Pakistan Peoples Party has always focused on public welfare and future planning, and under this vision, multiple initiatives are being launched to provide maximum relief and facilities to the public.

He added that important data has been collected through the Benazir Income Support Programme, based on which a large-scale housing scheme is being launched to provide homes to 2.1 million families, while the Benazir Hari Card has also been introduced to support small farmers.

Sharjeel Memon said that due to a decline in wheat cultivation, the Sindh government announced the provision of DAP and urea bags to farmers to encourage cultivation, while medicines were also provided for crops affected by rains, and this year’s wheat production has been declared a bumper crop, resulting in sufficient availability.

He stated that wheat harvesting is currently underway, and the government has provided Rs 1,500 per acre to over 300,000 small farmers, adding that Sindh is the only province to have directly provided financial support to farmers.

In the transport sector, he said that subsidies are being provided for both public and private transport to prevent fare increases, while a scheme has also been launched to provide Rs 2,000 per person to motorcycle users through Sindh Bank.

He further stated that intercity and intracity transport is also being subsidized, while the distribution of pink scooters has begun from Karachi, and training for women riders has been completed in Sukkur and Hyderabad, with distribution to begin soon.

He added that new routes for the Peoples Bus Service will soon be launched in Shikarpur, Sukkur, Khairpur, and Hyderabad to improve public transport facilities.

He emphasized that the Sindh government’s top priority is to provide relief across all sectors, following directives from Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari, with notable progress also being made in the health sector.

Speaking on health, he said that polio is a dangerous disease that can only be prevented through timely vaccination, and a comprehensive awareness campaign has been launched, urging the public to spread awareness to ensure every child is protected.

In response to a question, he said that the current situation has become a challenge for India, while Pakistan is strengthening its global role and improving its foreign relations and security sector, emerging as a strong and dignified nation.

He added that Pakistan is a peace-loving country seeking regional stability and is reinforcing this image at the international level.

Responding to another question, he said that federal and provincial governments are working together to promote Pakistan’s narrative, and Sindh’s first project, “Mera Lyari” will be presented at the London Festival.

On fuel prices, he said that increases or decreases are linked to global markets, and the government makes decisions accordingly, urging the public to understand international dynamics.

He concluded by stating that fare increases will not be allowed under any circumstances, and transporters are in coordination with the government, while deputy commissioners and commissioners have been directed to ensure implementation of official fares to provide relief to the public.
