The Sindh government has decided to provide affordable electricity to underprivileged areas and industrial zones in Karachi, aiming to offer relief to low-income communities and support industrial growth.
During a meeting at the Chief Minister House with K-Electric Chairman Shahryar Chishti, directives were issued by the Chief Minister to relevant authorities to move forward effectively with the initiative.
The Chief Minister instructed the Energy Department and K-Electric to jointly conduct a detailed study on a targeted subsidy program for electricity consumers in Karachi, ensuring that benefits reach deserving users directly.
He further directed that practical proposals be prepared to supply affordable electricity to low-income areas and industrial zones, while also emphasizing the need to reduce load shedding in underdeveloped areas as the summer season begins.
