Hot and dry weather is expected to persist in Karachi and most parts of the country today, which may result in increased heat intensity and discomfort due to humidity for residents.

According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in Karachi is likely to remain between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius over the next 24 hours, while the minimum temperature recorded at night was 26.5 degrees Celsius. Sea breezes are currently suspended in the city, and humidity levels have reached 48 percent, contributing to a rise in mugginess.

On the other hand, rain has been forecast in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, where rainfall and hailstorms were also recorded in some locations a day earlier, bringing pleasant weather, although incidents of lightning strikes were also reported in certain areas.

Temperature variations across different cities remained significant, with Turbat and Mithi recording the highest temperature at 45 degrees Celsius, while Karachi, Sukkur, Sibi, Lasbela, and Thatta experienced temperatures reaching up to 44 degrees Celsius. Similarly, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan recorded 40 degrees Celsius, Lahore 37 degrees, and Islamabad and Quetta 34 degrees Celsius.

In several cities of Punjab, including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Gujrat, and Vehari, rain accompanied by hailstorms was reported, while five people lost their lives due to rain and lightning incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir, indicating the severity of the weather conditions.

Meanwhile, intermittent snowfall continues in northern areas, including Babusar Top, Nanga Parbat, and Batogah Top, maintaining cold weather conditions in those regions.
