The final of the World Test Championship kicks off today at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground in England, where Australia will face South Africa in a high-stakes contest.
Known as the home of cricket, Lord’s will host this decisive clash that concludes the two-year-long World Test Championship series contested among top Test-playing nations.
Defending champions Australia, who defeated India at The Oval in the previous edition, now have the chance to make history by winning back-to-back WTC finals.
On the other hand, South Africa is still in pursuit of its first ICC title, having gone more than 20 years without clinching a global championship.
South Africa, finishing at the top of the table, played 12 matches during the cycle, winning 8, losing 3, and drawing 1. Australia, ranked second, played 19 games, out of which they won 13, lost 4, and drew 2.
Both teams have announced their starting lineups ahead of the highly anticipated final.
