A deadly suicide car bombing struck a military convoy in North Waziristan, resulting in the martyrdom of 14 soldiers and injuries to at least 25 people, including civilians and children.

The explosion occurred early morning in the Miran Shah area, a region often targeted by militants in recent years. According to initial military sources, a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) hit a patrolling unit during a routine movement near a populated zone.

Deadliest Attack in Recent Months

This is one of the most devastating attacks on Pakistani security forces this year. Security experts have labeled it a well-coordinated suicide attack, designed to inflict mass casualties.

“The explosion was so strong, windows shattered in nearby villages. The ambulance sirens didn’t stop for hours,” said a local resident.

Investigation Underway

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the attack and stated that a full-scale investigation and search operation has been launched in surrounding areas to locate and arrest accomplices.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the bombing, but officials suspect the involvement of TTP or affiliated groups.

Casualty Overview:

Type Count
Soldiers Martyred 14
Injured (incl. civilians) 25
Vehicles Damaged 4

Nation Mourns, Leaders Respond

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir condemned the attack, calling it an act of cowardice and reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve to fight terrorism.

“These sacrifices will not go in vain. We will bring the perpetrators to justice,” said the Prime Minister.

Security Raised Nationwide

Following the bombing, security alerts have been issued across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other sensitive regions. Additional checkpoints and aerial surveillance have been deployed in tribal areas.
