A significant rise in traffic accidents has been recorded in Karachi during the first three and a half months of the current year, with a total of 295 people losing their lives and 3,205 others injured between January 1 and April 15.
According to available data, the number of fatalities caused by heavy vehicles has reached 100, accounting for a substantial portion of the total deaths and raising serious concerns for public safety.
The report further indicates that trailers were responsible for the highest number of fatal accidents, being involved in 46 deadly incidents, highlighting the need for stricter monitoring and regulation of heavy traffic in the city.
